AB 1872 (Alejo) Vetoed by Governor

10.4.2012 AB 1872 (Alejo) Improving Child Care Nutrition was vetoed by the Governor on Thursday, September 27. AB 1872 would have set the same minimum nutrition standard for foods served in licensed family day care homes as is currently required in all licensed child care centers and would have required licensing authorities to inform all child care providers about the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

While AB 1872 will not make further progress this year, CFPA will continue to work with a variety of stakeholders to ensure that foods served in all types of child care are nutritious and that all child care providers are informed of the federal resource, CACFP. We are grateful for all the support this bill received. Thank you!
