CFPA's Latest White Paper:
"An Opportunity to Boost Senior Participation in CalFresh"

With the recent passage of AB 69, California has a prime opportunity to improve senior participation in CalFresh. This white paper outlines a model for AB 69 implementation, set for July 2012. Using best practices from other states, and taking into account California's unique cashout policy, this white paper explores potential CalFresh enrollment among Social Security recipients over 60 years of age. Through a combination of data sharing, federal waivers, and simplified enrollment, AB 69 can raise awareness and increase CalFresh participation among seniors.
