HSFC to Offer School Food Policy and Organizing Training
4.20.2012 Want to change your food environment at school? Then join Healthy School Food Coalition for a training session on school food policy and organizing.
Who should attend the training?
Any agency or community organization working with adults and youth interested in playing an active role in supporting students' health, nutrition and food access in LAUSD schools.
What you will learn from the training?
As part of this training you will learn about:
- How federally funded school nutrition programs work,
- How LAUSD is organized, and how Food Services works,
- The what and why of the menu cafeteria changes,
- Strategies to work with students, parents, and other community members to support the implementation of district-wide school food and nutrition policies.

When is the training?
Training sessions are from 12:30pm to 4pm on the following days:
- Thursday, May 3rd
- Friday, May 11th
- Thursday, May 17th
- Thursday, May 24th
- Thursday, May 31st
- Tuesday, June 5th
Lunch will be provided!
