AB 292 Passes Assembly Committee on Appropriations

Published on May 28, 2015 in Child Nutrition, School-Aged Children, State Legislation

5.28.2015  AB 292 (Santiago), the Time to Eat bill, passed the Assembly Committee on Appropriations this afternoon. AB 292 will now head to the Assembly floor for a vote on or before Friday, June 5. We’d like to thank Assemblymember Santiago and all of our partners whose hard work has ensured AB 292’s success thus far!

AB 292 would ensure that students have enough time to eat a nutritious lunch at school. It emphasizes the crucial role of nutrition in supporting academic achievement and student health.

Take Action: AB 292 needs your support as it heads to the Assembly floor for a vote. We’ve prepared a sample AB 292 floor alert that is ready for you to personalize. Please email or fax a copy to your Assemblymember and encourage an “aye” vote. Don’t forget to share the sample floor alert with partners!

You can also use the talking points included in the floor alert to make a phone call to your Assemblymember in support of AB 292.
