AB 292 Held in Senate Appropriations

Published on Aug 27, 2015 in Child Nutrition, School-Aged Children, State Legislation

8.28.15 AB 292 (Santiago) Time to Eat: Lunchtime Supports Learning was held in the Senate Appropriations suspense file. While the bill will not make further progress this year, CFPA will continue working with the California Department of Education  and other stakeholders to ensure that students have enough time to sit and eat a lunch at school.

AB 292 received wide support and engagement from many health and education stakeholders, and continued to educate state policymakers about the problem of inadequate time to eat at schools. CFPA looks forward to future efforts to ensure that all California students have the time they need to eat at school. A big thanks to all the supporters of this bill.
