Published on May 28, 2015 in Child Nutrition, School-Aged Children, State Legislation

5.28.2015 AB 1240 (Bonta & Thurmond), the Breakfast After the Bell bill, was held in the Assembly Committee on Appropriations suspense file today. While the bill will not progress further this year, CFPA is committed to making Breakfast After the Bell a reality for students in every corner of California. You can help advance these continued policy efforts. Stay tuned for more details!

AB 1240 received support from a broad range of stakeholders who recognize the health, academic, and fiscal benefits of the proposal. Thank you to all of our partners who championed the bill – and thank you to Assemblymembers Bonta and Thurmond for their leadership on this issue.

We’ll keep working until all California kids have the nutritious meals they need to learn, grown, and achieve at their full potential.
