The House is Voting to Split the Farm Bill

Published on Jul 11, 2013 in Federal Advocacy

7.11.2013 House leadership introduced HR 2642 late last night which would split the Farm Bill into two pieces, leaving SNAP behind. One half addresses agricultural provisions and the other half addresses the Nutrition Title, which includes SNAP. This proposal would allow the House to leave SNAP, and hungry families, behind while reauthorizing other components of the Farm Bill. The vote is expected to happen today. Take a moment to contact Congress and let them know you oppose this split.
