New Resource on Summer Learning

Published on Oct 11, 2013 in Child Nutrition, School-Aged Children

10.11.2013 Our friends at the California School Boards Association (CSBA) recently released a comprehensive resource on summer learning. The online compilation features three previously released articles, two new case studies, a meeting facilitation guide, two sample board policies, a link to a planning timeline and more.

A growing body of research shows that low-income students face harmful learning losses and unhealthy weight gain during the summer months. California’s kids need access to engaging summer academic and enrichment programs that include healthy meals and snacks.
