USDA's New "Recipes for Healthy Kids Cookbook"

Published on Oct 18, 2012 in Child Nutrition, School-Aged Children

10.18.2012 USDA’s Team Nutrition has released a cookbook with the 30 winning recipes from the Recipes for Healthy Kids (R4HK) Competition, scaled to be used in school kitchens. Groups of students, parents, professionals and other community members teamed up across the country to develop these “kid-tested” recipes that can be used in the National School Lunch Program. USDA’s Team Nutrition helped to standardize and scale these winning recipes so that schools can use them in their new menus.

Teams from two California Districts had winning recipes.

  • Manteca Unified School District in the Central Valley
  • Oakland Unified School District
