Classroom Breakfast Nurtures and Nourishes Students

10.8.2013 NBC News recently published a compelling article highlighting the critical role that Classroom Breakfast plays in nourishing and nurturing students. According to educators interviewed for the article, Classroom Breakfast not only improves attendance and reduces tardiness but also imparts a sense of safety and community, which are central to learning. School nutrition experts note that Classroom Breakfast and other after-the-bell service models help states and school districts in need draw down valuable federal resources. Soon states like California will have an opportunity to expand Classroom Breakfast through the Community Eligibility Option.
