AB 839 was held in the Senate Appropriations suspense file today. While the bill will not make further progress this year, CFPA will continue working with the California Department of Education and other stakeholders to address the underutilization of the School Breakfast Program throughout our state. Whether through AB 839 or another policy proposal, CFPA will keep advocating for effective school breakfast solutions to better serve California’s students.
