3.21.13 Have you been celebrating? National CACFP Week (March 17-23) is a great time to highlight the benefits of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), a program that promotes high-quality affordable child care by helping providers to serve nutritious meals and snacks. Spread the word about CACFP!

Here are 3 easy ways to help you spread the word about CACFP during National CACFP Week and onward:

1. Promote CACFP using the tweets below, developed by Food Research and Action Center (FRAC):

  • #timemagazine article: #CACFP helps childcare centers offer healthy food to children #childnutrition http://ti.me/ZZII8X
  • #CACFP is a win-win-win for busy parents, happy children, and childcare providers.
  • #childnutrition [if you have one, insert shortened link to your press release, or better yet, a local story – otherwise post without the link]
  • It’s #CACFP week and we are working to #endhungernow in childcare centers

2. Share the good news about CACFP:

Studies show that children in CACFP receive meals that are nutritionally superior to those served to children in child care settings without CACFP. See CFPA’s report about child care nutrition in CACFP vs. Non-CACFP child care. PDF

3. Take the CACFP Pledge to tell one person about CACFP this week. link
