CalFresh Awareness Month is Here!

by

4.27.2012  CFPA, along with many community partners, is looking forward to the exciting activities planned for LA DPSS’s CalFresh Awareness Month beginning on May 1, 2012.  The County Department of Public Social Services’ is sponsoring numerous events throughout LA County that will provide information and visibility in order to increase enrollment among eligible low-income individuals and families to this valuable federal nutrition benefit program. Last year’s legislative victories have made it possible to implement policies that facilitate the enrollment process to CalFresh by removing the stigmatizing requirement of finger print imaging. This, along with other simplifications, such as the online applications, phone interviews and streamlined verifications, will help more families successfully receive the nutrition benefits they are entitled to. We hope that you partake in one of the events at a location nearest you. To find a LA County DPSS CalFresh Awareness Month event, take a look at their calendar. PDF
