8.25.2011 Great news! At today’s hearing, AB 69 moved off of the Senate Appropriations Committee “suspense” file with a 6-2 bi-partisan vote and now heads to the Senate floor for a vote. Some minor amendments were made to ensure cost neutrality at the state level. By simplifying the enrollment process for eligible seniors receiving retirement benefits, AB 69 can bring millions of dollars in federal nutrition benefits to California and boost senior participation in CalFresh. In order to move AB 69 to the Governor’s desk for signature, we need you to contact your Senator today and show your support for AB 69.
