CFPA Bills AB 1560, AB 1594, and AB 1872 Pass Off the Assembly Floor!

AB 1560 (Fuentes) Food for Health passed off the Assembly Floor yesterday afternoon with a vote of 51-25. The bill, which would remove a CalFresh income barrier for Medi-Cal recipients and their families, will now head to the Senate Human Services Committee. Supporters are encouraged to submit a letter of support to the Senate Human Services Committee; a sample letter with instructions is provided below.

AB 1560 (Eng) Improving Charter School Nutrition passed the Assembly Floor yesterday with a final vote of 43-28! The bill, which would extend the needy student meal mandate to California Charter Schools, will head to the Senate Education Committee shortly. We thank you for your continued support and ask that you take action in support of AB 1594 as the bill moves through the Senate. Please submit a letter of support (sample below) addressed to the Chair of the Senate Education Committee as soon as possible.
